Klein in a Clinical Context

A monthly reading circle exploring Melanie Klein’s clinical practice and theoretical thinking.

Seminar Leader:
Christopher Gibson, Psychoanalyst
Member of the Swedish Psychoanalytical Association (IPA)

Melanie Klein’s once controversial, but now foundational, ideas offer profound insights into both everyday emotional life and the complexity of clinical work. Her thinking can help us maintain our capacity for reflection and understanding when faced with difficult and emotionally charged situations.

The aim of this seminar series is to provide a structured opportunity for professional development and deeper study. The content is intended as a complement to participants’ already well-established knowledge and experience.

We will undertake a close reading of:
Clinical Klein by R.D. Hinshelwood (1995, Free Association Books). The book will be read in English. Theoretical explanations and discussions will be conducted in Swedish. Additional relevant material will be distributed throughout the seminar series.

Location:
Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy Practice Divanen
